Why the Difference Between Common and Rare Terpenes Matters
Common terpenes like myrcene, limonene, and pinene dominate cannabis strains because they are easier to cultivate and stabilize, appearing in 60 to 80% of commercial varieties. Rare terpenes such as terpinolene and nerolidol show up in less than 15% of strains, making them harder to source and often more expensive.
